Taking the exam with PSI

Where Do You Apply for a Real Estate License in North Dakota?

The North Dakota Real Estate Commission (NDREC) handles all aspects of real estate licensing statewide.  This agency is also responsible for establishing regulations concerning the real estate industry.

What Are the Requirements for Becoming a Real Estate Agent in North Dakota?

Anyone who wants to become what’s known as a real estate salesperson in North Dakota must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • have completed at least 45 hours of approved real estate agent training
  • pass the required real estate exams

You can even take the exam before you’ve completed the necessary training, but you can’t be issued a license until you’ve fulfilled all the course requirements.

Applicants are also required to have errors and omission insurance.  They need to provide proof of insurance before they can be issued a license.

Criminal Record and Credit Checks
